Prevention of Major Accidents

Our objective, with the active involvement of all employees, is to achieve a level of occupational safety and health protection and major accident prevention that meets the requirements of the applicable legislation in the industry.

The Management of Synthesia, a.s. and Synthesia Nitrocellulose, a.s.hereby undertakes to: 

a) ensure occupational safety and health protection and prevent major accidents, which it considers a matter of public interest and an integral part of the employee care system;

b) implement and continuously develop preventive measures under the given operating conditions, applying safety considerations already at the design stage of new technologies and workplaces, as well as when introducing new activities, processes, etc.;

c) in accordance with the applicable legal framework, establish and maintain an up-to-date system of internal documents defining the competencies, rights and responsibilities of individual entities and their interrelationships in order to ensure occupational safety and health protection and prevent major accidents;

d) ensure systematic and qualified identification, assessment and minimization of risks, and demonstrably ensure that employees are informed about these risks;

e) provide and allocate the necessary resources to finance activities in the field of occupational safety and health protection and major accident prevention, proportionate to the value, condition and degree of reliability of the equipment and the level of risk associated with its operation;

f) continuously support and motivate all employees to strengthen their responsibility for their own safety and health, as well as for the safety and health of all other employees within the site;

g) include in the occupational safety and health protection and major accident prevention management system all entities affected by the company’s business activities, including suppliers, customers, visitors, etc. operating within the site;

h) systematically document, assess, monitor and evaluate the status, results and management system of occupational safety and health protection and major accident prevention, ensure the correction of identified deficiencies, and use the results of inspections and audits for training, instruction, practical training and awareness-raising;

i) through the consistent use of all forms of internal and external communication, cooperate with employees, the trade union organization, state administration authorities and local government in improving the level of occupational safety and health protection and major accident prevention.
